The North Stars posted this up yesterday and I want to make sure the whole world knows about it.
The Battlefords and area has lost a son, brother, friend, and local hero and icon in the hockey world. His love for kids, friends, teammates, coaches, and everyone he ever met showed the type of person he truly was. Colby will be missed not only by family and friends, but by a community who loved him and was proud of what he accomplished through out his hockey career. He was proud of where he grew up and continued to put the Battlefords on the map as a place that has great athletes and great people as a whole.
Colby Cave will be missed by all!
With Covid-19 changing the lives and life styles of the whole world we are not able to grieve and support our loved ones in “normal ways” that we always have. We are asking that those who are will and able to help us support the CAVE FAMILY as they return home from Toronto.
Monday April 13/20 at 3:30 approx pm we ask that if you are able, to form a line of vehicles on the shoulder westbound of hiway 16 starting at Redhead Equipment/and Ritchie Bro’s Auctions. Wear your Hockey Jerseys, or make up signs and whatever you feel in letting Al, Jen, Taylor and the rest of the family know we are thinking of them in this time of need.
The RCMP and BATTLEFORDS Fire Departments will lead the family from that point across the bridges to the Kramer Cat building where they will head home from there.
We want to remember how important it is to Social Distance at this time, so we ask that everyone please respect each other.
