We love summer in Saskatchewan. Road trips are a huge part of life on the prairie when summer rolls around. Whether you are going to check out the “biggest in the world” items, or visiting family and friends, or hunting for the perfect camping spot, or just driving until the gas gauge hits the “E”, you can’t argue that hitting the open road feels good.
While you’re travelling in Saskatchewan you’ll notice the rolling farm fields with the beautiful canola blossoms, or the waving stalks of wheat and barley. You’ll see the unmatched splendor of the River Valleys, and the stunning panoramic sky that stretches on forever. Wildlife is always a bonus! Deer, Moose, fox, birds of all kinds, and more.
Among all of this you will encounter one other Summer Phenomenon. Highway Construction! You knew it was coming. The hard part to deal with is that in most cases you have to slow right down, or even stop. I want to remind you that it’s okay to take a little extra time to get where you’re going. Take a breath, put the windows down, turn up the tunes, and breathe in that sweet prairie air.
Trust me you’ll still get there.
Plus it could always be worse. Imagine if travelling in Saskatchewan were like this video. I’d never go anywhere!
That bus driver has mad skills.
If you’re road tripping this summer, enjoy the ride. Remember a wise man once said, “If You Drive Like Hell, You’ll Get There”… and nobody wants to go there.
