A little while back it was my Birthday! I was very lucky and my family spoiled me. I even got to go out for supper at a fancy restaurant. My beautiful wife and I ordered and sat gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes. Our food arrived and it looked delicious! I could smell the spices and ingredients used to craft such a masterful dish – a delight to the senses. This was more than food, this was an experience! I noticed that our server forgot to drop off cutlery. No biggie, we flagged him down and asked about a fork and knife and he gave me a little grin and said, “Didn’t you hear? We decided you could bring your own. I’m sure you have some at home. It saves the restaurant a ton of time washing, wrapping, and setting on tables. Plus you know it’s good for the environment since we’re not running the dishwasher as much.”
I sat, completely dumb-founded.
True story… but not actually. That didn’t happen at all.
This is just what I think all iPhone fans are going to feel like when they hear the news that Apple has decided to discontinue providing a charger with the new iPhone 12 models.
When you take it out of the box, it’s going to look great! It’s going to be a real experience no matter which of the 4 versions you decide to go with (approx. $980-$1250). But without a charger you might feel a little disappointed, like something is missing. Yes, you probably do have your own at home, but what kind of shape is that bad boy in? Apple says don’t worry! You can buy your own new one at the Apple store for about fifty bucks!
According to Apple it’s an effort to down size on boxing, to save the environment… and shipping costs. Yes the charger is now an ADDITIONAL accessory… And that’s a True Story.
