The Battlefords Business Excellence Awards this year were a hit! Our business community is pretty dang impressive. Seriously when you look at what it takes to, first of all, make that jump into business and then do everything you can to change how you do business to continue serving customers in the middle of a pandemic, it’s astounding the strength of these people! You’re amazing!
The Battlefords Chamber of Commerce decided that they would take a cue from all of the member businesses and not give up. The BBEX this year needed to adhere to some pretty strict guidelines and regulations, and they did it! Everything from meals out at member restaurants, to designated theatre entrances, pre-arranged bags of popcorn, and pre-filled soda, right down to individual cups of warm buttery topping! Each business was seated in a separate section of the theatres and all of the action was being live-fed to the big screens from the lobby!

I unfortunately had to cut my time at the awards short, my beautiful wife Megan and our kids managed to slip off the road into the ditch on the way home from town. They’re all safe and sound, and I managed to pull the minivan out of the snow without wrecking it!
Thanks to the Chamber for a fun and unique night out. Maybe next year we’ll even win!
