Over the last week a group of people on TikTok have made a brand new pill bottle for people with Parkinson’s disease.
Back on December 27th Jimmy Choi also known as JfoxNinja from Ninja Warrior, posted a video to TikTok expressing his frustration with how small the pills are to treat his Parkinson’s and how he struggles to pick them up.
Enter Brian Aldridge, who 4 days ago Taught himself how to use Fusion360 3D printer design software to create a new shot glass pill bottle. Since then the people of TikTok have created a working model and have applied for a patent on the design to keep it from falling in the hands of a big company. Plus, Brian is hoping to go with the Toms strategy, Meaning that the number of commercial products sold will equal the number donated to a non-profit organization. This will take some time to achieve, so in the mean time the 3D printers who have been working on the shot glass pill bottle will be selling them close to cost. I’ve been following this on TikTok for the last few days and think it’s so cool how fast a group of strangers on TikTok where able to make this a reality. The best part is Brian are hoping to donate the final product to the Michael J. Fox foundation.
