Man is it cold! With temps down into the OMG range it pays to be prepared. When you head out on the road for any amount of travel it’s smart to bring warm winter clothes, a charged up cell phone, a blanket and a compact shovel. I keep a tow strap in the vehicle too – it has come in handy a few times!
The reason you need this stuff is because if you ever wind up in a situation where you’re stuck on the side of the road it is going to get cold – fast. That cell phone in a lot of cases is your lifeline. You can call someone to let them know your having vehicle trouble, and more importantly you can call a tow truck. With the temperatures so low you can be sure they will be busy.
Tow truck drivers sure are like mini superheroes! They’re the ones willing to head out in terrible weather. They’re the ones who can give you a boost, change your tire, unlock the door when your keys are inside, and more! That in mind it’s important to remember to slow down when you see a tow truck at work on the road. It’s terrifying to imagine being on the road in -40 temps and having to dive out of the way as a semi-truck thunders down on you smashing into your tow truck! That’s a TRUE STORY. Check out the accident that happened with Hardi Towing HERE.
Stay safe on the road. Be ready for anything. And slow to 60 when you see the lights of our Highway Super Heros.
