A few weeks ago social media and news in the Battlefords was buzzing about a fire. Everyone was shocked to hear that the Esso on Hwy 4 in Battleford was in flames. Luckily the Battleford Volunteer Fire Dept was able contain the blaze to the car wash portion of the business. Those guys are pros! The business itself suffered a different fate since the power and heat were cut to help fight the fire it meant that the entire business froze solid.
The family that owns and operates the Esso were devastated. Imagine pouring everything you have into a business and then seeing this happen. I’m pretty sure you know how heart wrenching that is.
It’s at this moment that I start to smile because as much as our community may be feeling a blow we all realize that there are real people that without this business will have nothing. Cue the happy music!
