This weekend is supposed to be amazing! Lots of sunshine and warm temps. I hope the weather man is right, because if he is I’ll be spending most of my weekend on the back deck keeping an eye on what’s on the Traeger.
I’m a huge fan of smoked meat. That smoky goodness just takes meat to the next level, no doubt. But did you know that you can infuse that smoke soaked flavor into more than just meat? Sure you can do veggies, even fruit! Last summer I smoked a pineapple and a watermelon. But I’m talking about something even more incredible.
Smoked Baking!
This is a thing, cakes, cheesecakes, squares, and all kinds of baked delights! I’ve found some recipes that are geared specifically to baking on a smoker, but I’m thinking I might just grab some of my faves and swaddle them in that sweet hickory softness! My mother in law has the best recipe for Nanaimo Bars. I normally don’t eat Nanaimo Bars, but hers are legendary.
LEVEL UP – Smoked Nanaimo Bars are first on the list.
What type of baking do you think would be amazing on the Traeger? Have you tried it? Leave me a comment on our FB Page!
Have a great weekend!
-Nic
