After passing the her astronaut tests 60 years ago Wally Funk will finally make her way to space. The youngest member of the Mercury 13 a group of women who where chosen to be apart of the First Lady Astronaut Training Program. These women underwent the same fitness tests NASA’s first male astronauts did. But unfortunately they where not allowed to partake in the space program.
This did not stop Wally because she is about to be the oldest person in space. On July 20th she will be going up for an 11 minute flight. Along side Wally will be 3 other passengers, owner of Blue Origin Jeff Bezos, His brother Mark and the anonymous winner why paid $28 million-dollars in auction for the remaining seat.
