I am going to start by telling you, I’m not a fit guy, and on top of it I don’t really enjoy riding a bike – but I’m going to try it!
That’s how I started the conversation with Lexi Larson who was the noon session instructor for Hustle House when I stopped in to Try It yesterday. Lexi was honest and set my mind at ease. The thing she said that helped me was “there is no judgement”. She pointed out that there are people in the class that are going to be just like me, and there will be other people that are a lot more advanced, but they all have one thing in common – they are there for THEM, not me. They will do what they do, and you can do what you do. The big ticket is to just keep moving.
A quick run-down on how to set up the spin-bike and we were ready to begin. Then the lights went out. Power outage? No, it was to set the mood and build some incredible intensity! The music kicked in and a cool lighting system jumped right in with it! Lexi got us going and we pedaled!
We pedaled fast, we pedaled, slow, we pedaled medium, we even pedaled UP HILL! Toss in a few moves with weights, a lot of water, some hoots and holars for accent, and a (now soggy) towel, then surprisingly it was done! The class had everyone from every age group, men and women, and it really did leave me feeling energized and positive!
Let me remind you how this all started out, I told Lexi that I wasn’t a fan of riding a bike, or exercise in general – and left Hustel House with a smile on may face…
My crotch is a little sore, but that happens to newbies until they get a “crotch callus” LOL!
Hustle House Spin Class – Try It! I did and I liked it!
