So over the last little while we have heard a lot about supply chain shortages and how that could possibly affect us as consumers. One of the big topics that has been buzzing around my family and friend circle is Turkeys.
The turkey is often the crown jewel of the Christmas Feast. Many families rely on a turkey not only to be delicious, but to be able to feed a small army of friends and family gathered around the table. Just thinking of the smell of a turkey cooking in the oven makes my mouth water!
Social media really threw gasoline on the fire to really get people talking when a picture of a turkey with an UNBELIEVABLE price-tag turned up. It’s probably still making it’s rounds. I don’t know about you but I can’t afford a turkey priced at $87!
Well it’s time for some good news! According to the Turkey Farmers of Saskatchewan there should easily be enough turkey to go around. Supply chain disruptions are real, yes the Floods in BC have impacted producers, but here in Saskatchewan farming is what we do best and Turkeys are no exception. This morning I opened up the call and text line powered by Battleford Furniture and asked if you have seen turkey’s for sale and according to you, there are many different grocery stores with your Christmas Bird in stock.
