Growing up at Jackfish lake there were always stories of disaster at Rock Island. “So and So hit it going full speed and it ripped the engine right off the boat.” This Buoy is there to remind everyone to beware! If you’re not familiar with Rock Island it is literally a giant heap of rocks close to the North East corner of Jackfish Lake not far from the very busy beaches at Aquadeo and Battleford’s Provincial Park. It lies just below the surface most years and if you’re not paying attention you can come upon it by surprise. Safe Boating!
