We’ve all been there—one second everything is fine, and the next, your stomach drops. That thing you need—keys, wallet, phone, wedding ring—gone. Cue instant panic mode.
Sometimes, it’s something priceless, like BJ Bradbury’s 200-year-old family cookbook, or something as simple as your glasses… on your head.
Take Sandra Hing, for example. She lost the key to the cabin, turned the place upside down looking for it, and even blamed everyone in sight—only to find it later, hiding in her granddaughter’s stroller. LOL!
The Gut-Dropping Moment You Realize It’s Gone
That feeling when you tap your pocket, check your bag, and nope—your phone isn’t there. Or when you’re digging through your purse knowing your wallet should be in there. It’s enough to make you break out in a cold sweat.
And then there are the ridiculous ones.
- “Lost my car… in a parking lot. Walked around for 40 minutes before I realized I parked on the wrong side.”
- “I swore someone stole my sunglasses. They were on my head the entire time.”
- “Had a full meltdown over my phone being gone. I was holding it. In my hand.”
What’s worse to lose? Your phone, wallet, car keys, or wedding ring? (And if you say “sanity,” same. )
Oh, Found It… Right Where It Should Be
After you’ve searched everywhere, flipped the couch cushions, emptied your bag twice, and maybe even blamed an innocent family member… you finally find it.
- “I lost my work ID for two weeks. It was in my laptop case THE WHOLE TIME.”
- “Tore my house apart looking for my passport. Turns out I’d ‘safely stored’ it… in the fridge. No idea why.”
- “My missing TV remote? Yeah… found it in the freezer.”
The best part? The relief—quickly followed by the shame of how obvious the hiding spot was.
So let’s hear it! What’s the most ridiculous, expensive, or important thing you’ve ever lost? Did you find it?
