After receiving a referral from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children on February 12, 2025, the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit began an investigation around child pornography being sold on a social media platform.
The investigation lead by the North Battleford General Investigation Section of the RCMP identified a suspect on February 20, 2025, and the RCMP arrested a 25-year-old adult male at a residence on Red Pheasant Cree Nation.
Blaisen Nicotine from Red Pheasant Cree Nation has been charged with:
- Sexual assault, Section 271, Criminal Code
- Sexual interference, Section 151, Criminal Code
- Invitation to sexual touching, Section 152, Criminal Code
- Indecent act, Section 173, Criminal Code
- Make child pornography, Section 163.1(2), Criminal Code
- Distribute child pornography, Section 163.1(3), Criminal Code
- Possess child pornography, Section 163.1(4), Criminal Code
The identity of one victim is known to police, and Victim Services as well as other supports are being provided. The interaction between the victim and the accused Nicotine took place at the school on Red Pheasant Cree Nation where Nicotine had enrolled in classes as an adult.
An investigation is under way to determine if there are any additional victims. If police do find more victims, they may or may not release more information in an effort to protect the identities of those victims and their families.
He first appeared in court on February 21, 2025, and has another court date scheduled for March 7, 2025 at the North Battleford Provincial Court.
