As a kid I was pretty quiet. A lot of people might have said that I was often “in my own world”. I wasn’t great at sports. I read a lot of books and fashion was very low on my list of priorities. Luckily I had a lot of people, family, friends and classmates that accepted me for who I was. Sure there was teasing from time to time but I was lucky that it didn’t last.
Some kids aren’t as fortunate as I was.
Bullying was and still is real. Did you know that 1 in 5 kids is affected by bullying. Hard to imagine that when you look at your kid’s class picture that every 5th kid on those risers could be going through it.
Today, Feb 26, is Pink Shirt day. Today is the day to focus on Kindness. Today is the day when we encourage our kids to lift each-other up.
