As the Winter Solstice inches closer days are getting shorter and shorter. Last night I figure it was dark by about 6:30pm. If you think that’s bad imagine living up near the North Pole, you wouldn’t see full daylight for months!
When it gets dark out early, I tend to hole-up. I like to go around the house and turn off all the big lights, flip on the Christmas lights and candles and stuff. Grab some Chips and Salsa for supper followed up with Popcorn and maybe some Toffifee, yup and yup. That stuff is like edible daylight. Then snuggle down on the couch for a movie.
There are always some ‘must watch’ films on my list at this time of year. Polar Express, Elf, A Christmas Story, just to name a few.
I don’t know what it is about Christmas that makes it okay to watch old movies over and over again. I think I get it from my mom. I never used to understand why she would watch the OLD version of Miracle On 34th Street every year. Now I totally get it. It’s one of those things that feels good. It takes you away from everything else that work, or family, or the season, or in the case of 2020, can throw at you.
Yup, check your brain at the door. It’s time for Christmas movies. I told you some of my faves which Christmas movies are on the annual ‘Must Watch’ list for you? Leave me a comment on our FB page!
