Last night was the 2022 Met Gala chaired by Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King, and Lin-Manuel Miranda with a theme of gilded glamour. To me only a few looks really fit the theme but sometimes the theme doesn’t matter.
First off I need to talk about Blake Lively and her New York city inspired dress. First she started off in a beautiful copper tone dress that was COVERED in beautiful embellishments. The she surprised everyone when she reveled a beautiful oxidised teal train to embody the Statue of Liberty.
Up next is Lizzo because WOW she came out with the world’s most expensive flute to play as she walked the Red Carpet. Plus she has this magnificent long black coat that had 22,000 hours of hand embroidery work on it. The black corset dress was the perfect way to pull the full look together.
Billie Eilish surprised us all last year with her amazing 2021 Met Gala debut. I was quite excited to see what she was going to wear for us this year and she did not disappoint! Billie wore a upcycled Gucci dress made completely out of scrap fabrics. It was goth meets 1800’s glamour and it was completely on theme!
I also LOVE Cardi B’s dress it was covered in gold chains and gems and it looked like the gold was dripping off of her. I don’t know if it totally fit the theme but I still loved how beautiful the dress is and how amazing Cardi B looked in it.
