his past weekend, the Battlefords United Football Club (BUFC) hit Saskatoon with four teams ready to show what they’re made of at the Aurora Soccer Tournament—and let’s just say, they did not disappoint! Here’s the lowdown on an action-packed weekend filled with wins, ties, and lots of heart.
U11 Boys Division 3
First tournament of the season? No problem for these young stars! The U11 Division 3 Boys came in hot, winning two games and dropping just one. A solid debut that shows there’s plenty more to come from this squad.
U11 Boys Division 2
The U11 Division 2 Boys are officially on a roll. This was their second tournament, and guess what? Undefeated AGAIN. That’s right—these boys are holding onto their perfect season like pros. Weekend after weekend, they’re showing everyone why they’re the team to beat.
U13 Girls Division 3
Our U13 Girls had their first tournament of the season, and while the results didn’t all land in their favor (two losses and one tie), they brought energy, grit, and big improvements to the field. A 3-3 tie in their last game was a great way to cap off a weekend of hard work. Watch out for these girls—they’re just getting started!
U15 Boys Division 2
Oh, where to begin with this powerhouse of a team? They hit the ground running in their first tournament, and they didn’t stop.
- Game 1: A nail-biter that ended with a 3-2 win.
- Game 2: Another tight match, taking it 3-1.
- Game 3: They turned up the heat with a jaw-dropping 14-1 victory, earning a spot in the finals.
In the championship game, the U15 boys played their hearts out, shutting out the opposing team 2-0 to claim the trophy. What a way to kick off their season! 🏆
BUFC: Growing Stronger Every Season
Technical Director Kat Huxley summed it up best:
“We’ve continued to grow, step forward, and put ourselves at the top of every division we enter. I couldn’t be happier with how our club is growing and how we’re pushing our competitive level every season to showcase our athletes and our club.”
With a start like this, the BUFC is setting the tone for an incredible season ahead.
What’s Next?
The club heads back to Saskatoon from December 6th to 8th with a whopping 12 teams ready to compete. Stay tuned—this is only the beginning of what’s shaping up to be a season to remember.
