A fire ban is in effect for the City of North Battleford due to warm temperatures and dry, windy conditions. The ban is put in place based on monitoring conditions through the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency’s Fire Weather Index, which currently rates the area as high on the fire index. According to the ban, any burns outside an approved fire pit are illegal, but the use of barbecues and smokers is permitted. Fires or burns not in an approved fire pit should be reported to the North Battleford Fire Department by calling 911. Suspicious behavior can be reported to the RCMP at 306-446-1720 or Community Safety Officers at 306-445-1775.
