In North Battleford, a unique event unfolded on May 16th, inviting men and women to don high heels and take to the streets in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault and gender violence. This event, known as Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, was more than just a walk – it was a powerful statement, a stand against injustice, and a beacon of hope for survivors.
Participants in Walk a Mile in Her Shoes were not just walking – they were stepping into the shoes of those who had experienced sexual violence. By wearing high heels, they symbolically challenged stereotypes and demonstrated empathy for survivors. It was a physical act of solidarity with those who had endured gender-based violence.
All residents of North Battleford and surrounding areas were invited to join this impactful event. Whether they were seasoned advocates or simply curious to learn more, their presence made a difference
